Today I am sharing my Christmas Day outfit with y’all! Blake and I’s families don’t get too fancy for Christmas Day. So I decided to wear something that looks nice, but is super comfy! These faux leather leggings I am wearing are by Spanx. How genius is it that a brand like Spanx designed leggings meant for slimming and sucking you in?! Before I tried mine on in the dressing room, I was mentally preparing to squeeze myself in them. But, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy they went on! They felt very comfortable, yet also secure hugging every curve in all the right places. One of my favorite parts about this outfit is the gorgeous sweater with the plaid detail peeking out. I love that it looks like I could be wearing 2 different pieces, but it’s all in one! I pulled the whole look together with these gorgeous suede & leather peep toe booties by Sam Edelman. Funny story… These were actually my photographer Madi’s shoes. I always show her the looks I’m going to be shooting in advance. So she suggested borrowing these since she felt they would go perfectly with the look, and she was right! So of course I went and bought a pair for myself 🙂

Since I’m sharing my Christmas outfit, I thought it would be fun to share some family traditions that my family does on Christmas! My Gigi & Aunt Sophia (Fifi) always spend Christmas with my family. They typically come in a few days before Christmas and we get any last minute shopping done (yes we are that family frantically running to Target getting last minute stocking stuffers). The day before Christmas Eve we go to a nice dinner to celebrate my aunt Fifi’s birthday. It’s nice not having to worry about cooking a few days before Christmas! We keep our Christmas Eve very low key. One tradition I love that all of us girls in the family do is start our day at 1541 Bakery to get breakfast turnovers and lattes with cute Christmas designs in them (you bet I’ll have an Instagram post of them). My best friend Lauren meets us there as well! For the rest of the day we are really just prepping for Christmas (last minute grocery runs, gift wrapping, & meal prep). Instead of a full meal on Christmas Eve, we make a ton of appetizers & just veg till we are way too full. My aunt and I always make sure to have a Christmas cocktail menu consisting of apple martinis and whatever else we decide to add for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. We also have the fire pit going outside! Before we get ready for bed we get to open our Christmas pajamas, which I know is a tradition for lots of families!

The next morning we wake up, make coffee, and get ready to open our stockings. After we open our stockings, we stop to eat breakfast before we open presents. This was brutal when we were younger and eager to open our presents under the tree. By the way… I am the oldest of 4 siblings and my sister, who is the youngest, is now 19. Anyways, we open our presents and just relax until we need to start cooking for our big Christmas meal! I am half Greek and my Gigi is full Greek, so she is basically the best cook ever. I get so excited to eat all of her yummy Greek dishes on Christmas, there’s just nothing like them! Blake’s family also joins us for our Christmas meal! They have been doing this with us for years now and I’m so thankful that Blake’s family gets along so well with mine. Since we have been married for about 2 1/2 years, of course my Christmas plans change a little. But it’s fun learning my husband’s family traditions and doing those with them as well!

Now that I have ranted about my Christmas plans and traditions, what are some traditions y’all do with family and/or friends? I would love to know! I hope you enjoyed this outfit post along with getting to know a little more about me and my family. Only 6 more sleeps till Christmas!! I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

xoxo,

Rachel

Rachel!! Since we’re remodeling our home, we have (sigh!) no place to decorate, cook or bake this year. We’ll celebrate Christmas Eve dinner at a place you know well – Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Colorado! Remember how much fun we had at your celebratory engagement dinner three years ago?!?
    Cheers to the holidays!!!🎄❄🎉😘
