Q: What’s your Starbucks order?
A: It is currently the iced cinnamon almond milk macchiato, and I typically always ask for half the amount of sweetener that they normally put in it.
Q: I’m not a coffee drinker… What else do you like to drink for energy when you need a boost?
A: I have been on this weird energy drink kick lately! I’ve tried a few that I really like, but so far my favorite has been the Celsius energy drinks. These give me SO much energy, but they are way better for you than many other energy drinks. It is more of a natural energy you get from the green tea that is in it but I promise you… It gives me more of a boost than coffee does! I love to drink one as a pre workout before my Orange Theory workouts. They sell them in Target, Kroger, HEB, or of course my favorite- Amazon.
Q: Can you give me your best heat protectant to save my hair from the blow dryer? And best serum for dry hair?!
A: Okay I have 2 favorite hair oils I LOVE that is good for dry/frizzy hair and as a heat protectant. The first one I love is the Ouai hair oil. Not only does this product help tame the frizz, but it also helps mend split ends, protects the hair from heat damage, and prevents your color from fading. Another favorite of mine is the Bumble & Bumble save the day protective repair serum. This one basically does the same things as the Ouai hair oil, but definitely helps more in the damaged department. If your hair has more damage than just some split ends, I would for sure recommend this one as a treatment. Also, they both smell amazing!!
Q: What’s your go-to favorite summer shoe?
Q: What do you curl your hair with?
A: I get the most questions about how I curl my hair! I’m currently working on a how to tutorial for my Youtube channel. I use this 1.25 inch barrel curling iron! The brand I use is Babyliss, but really any barrel curing iron would do as long as it’s 1.25 inch size.
Q: What do you do to maintain the shedding in your house from your German Shepherds?
A: For Christmas this past year my in laws got me a the Dyson V8 Animal cordless vacuum. It has forever changed my home! This little vacuum picks up so much and is so lightweight to use. I was so excited when I opened it Christmas morning that I vacuumed their entire house with it. My in laws were so impressed with it that they got themselves one! I also take them to get groomed once every couple of months to get a bath, nails clipped, teeth brushed, and my absolute favorite- furminated. This treatment helps pull out all of the loose hair just sitting in their second coat. I also have a furminating brush that also makes a big difference!
Q: Going to a destination wedding! What would you recommend wearing to a beach wedding?
A: I have been to 3 destination weddings within the past couple of years and this dress from Free People is my all time favorite to bring along! It’s so flattering and fun to dance in! Free People brings it back every year I guess because it’s a costumer favorite. Mine is in a pink color.
Q: What are your summer makeup must haves?
A: There are a couple makeup products that I love to add into my everyday makeup routine during the summer time! The first one is a tinted moisturizer with SPF. I have been loving this illuminating one by Laura Mercier. I will either mix this in with my everday foundation, or wear it alone when I’m going for a minimal to no makeup look! I love that it gives my skin a healthy glow while protecting from the sun. It’s also a great product to have by the pool! My second favorite product to pick up is this Bobbi Brown shimmer brick. They are a little bit of an investment but I love to treat myself to one during the summer 🙂 My favorite one so far is the bronze one. I will dust it over my blush, or go to town all over my face haha. You can also apply it on your body for a pretty glow! If I’m wearing a strapless/sleeveless top I will put it on my chest, arms, and shoulders.
If you haven’t noticed… I have a brand new website! Thanks to Madi (my photographer), I now have a user friendly site that should be so much easier for y’all to navigate through. If you ever need help with web design/building a website, feel free to reach out to her: firstname.lastname@example.org. I am officially going part time in the salon starting in August, to pick up blogging as part of my career. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, and I finally decided to make it happen. Since I live in Houston but work in College Station, it will make my commute seem like a breeze only having to do it 3 days a week (Wednesday-Friday)! I’ve actually learned to really love my commute utilizing my alone time in the car before and after work. In the morning I like to take my coffee to go and put on a good podcast, audible book, or my favorite playlist. On my way home I like to do either of those things again or call a friend to catch up. There have also been times where I will catch myself sitting in pure silence on my way home haha. Does anyone else enjoy sitting in the silence of your own thoughts every once in a while or is it just me? With all of this being said, if any of you have any book/podcast suggestions, please leave it in a comment below!
On May 19th my brother Jordan and now sister-in-law Lindsey finally got married! The wedding was SO beautiful and the whole weekend was absolutely perfect. Jordan was a lot more emotional than I thought he would be through out the day! He even cried during his dance with my mom which had everyone else in tears as well. The whole weekend ended up being one big party, which probably won’t surprise you if you know our family and friends lol. If y’all would like to see some pictures you can click here to see the blog that Madi posted on her website highlighting the entire day.
A lot of people have been asking what is next is on my agenda in terms of travel. I’m happy to say that for the entire month of July we won’t be traveling (far at least). It’s nice to just be home and I don’t know.. Save some money? Haha. BUT at the beginning of August I am going on a bachelorette party to Malibu for my friend Maddie! I have never been to Malibu and I’m super excited to mark it off my list because it’s a place I have been dying to go to. It’s going to be such a fun girls weekend filled with good eats, drinks, beach, wine safari, and the most amazing weather! Stay tuned for more on this because I’m thinking about doing a blog post over our whole weekend stay. Blake will be going on our friend Matt’s bachelor party to Cabo during the same weekend. It’s fun being in our friend’s weddings together! In the past few months we have been to New York City, New Olreans, Stillwater Minnesota, and a few smaller trips in Texas between. I’m hoping to be able to share more travel experiences with you guys on here!
This is all I got for now. If you have any questions that you would like me to answer in the next Coffee w/ Rach that would be beneficial for others to know, please leave them in the comments below! Thanks for following along!
