Hey guys!! First of all I am SO sorry for being so MIA on here! We had a family emergency come up a couple weeks ago and I am just now getting back into the swing of things as far as work and blog posts go. On another note, I am actually in the process of creating new content on another exciting media outlet… Youtube! Originally I wanted to begin with YouTube, but decided blogging was a step in that direction that would help put myself out there a little more first. Over the last few months though I’ve been thinking, why not do both?! The content I create for YouTube will be in-depth hair and makeup tutorials that are difficult translate to a written medium.
That being said, I would LOVE some recommendations on the type of videos y’all would like to see. If you have been dying to try a certain make-up or hair look please let a sister know! I am also up for tutorials on how I color hair (for my hairstylists out there!). You can leave suggestions here, on Instagram, or via email for me!
Now, back to the outfit post….
I recently returned from a family vacation on Dauphin Island, Alabama. But, this wasn’t just a normal family vacation… my childhood best friend got married on the beach there! I was so honored to stand by her side as her Matron of Honor when she married her best friend on such a beautiful and scenic island.
On the way to Alabama we spent a couple days in New Orleans. Let me just tell you now that New Orleans is one of my absolute favorite cities to visit. Growing up I visited often because my mom was once a teacher there! On this trip we stopped by the Hemline there on Chartres street near the Jackson Square, and I just couldn’t refrain from purchasing this cute black and white, off the shoulder, pom pom dress! This specific Hemline (in the French Quarter) is actually the original one. You can now find 20 different Hemline locations across Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee. The brand of this dress is Tularosa and I will leave a link where you can purchase the dress here!
Additionally I would like to introduce y’all to someone! This is my brother’s girlfriend Lindsey, who happens to take my pictures! I wanted to give her a shout out on here because she does a lot of behind the scene work such as taking my pictures and editing for me. She has the same passion for fashion and beauty, so I completely trust her opinion on everything! Let’s just say my brother’s a lucky guy 😉 She got this tunic tee by Show Me Your Mumu at the Hemline in the French Quarter as well! It was a great piece that she wore during our vacation to Dauphin Island whether used as a beach cover-up, casual dress, or jammies! I will link her top here.
